Some of you may remember me starting a new coach-ranking system last year – I would link it, but I lost most of the old stuff when I changed over to breastfedmoonshine.com 2.0. In case you forgot, this is what happened to make me want to do this –
BCIR Year 2 – Ranking The Coaches
An Open Letter to the University of Arkansas
I suppose it is now time for me to weigh in on the 800-pound gorilla in the room, the one that no one seems too terribly shy to discuss, but much less enthusiastic to observe. I will not address my remarks to Mr. Long, because my remarks can not be sufficiently addressed by Mr. Long. My remarks go to all who wield power, however great or marginal, however implicit or explicit, over the athletic department to which I have dedicated years of my life, love and longing, and inches of valuable real estate on my own skin, in the form of a Razorback tattoo. To the movers-and-shakers of this fine institution, I implore an open and reasoned dissection of the words I here present, and ask that you fully consider their implications when deciding how to move forward. Whoopsi!
Sure, “Ole Miss” may be a title referencing the slave-owner’s wife, and yeah the particular “Rebel” that is the school’s nickname, and the “Colonel Reb” that serves as their mascot are both confederate soldiers, but…uhm…well, this kid will have trouble finding work, even in Oxford.

Ten Great Myths – #1 Arkansas is in a bad position for recruiting.
MYTH – Perhaps the greatest disadvantage Arkansas faces in attempting to compete with the big boys is a decided disadvantage in recruiting. (more…)
Today’s Featured Razorback – Michael Washington
Michael Washington is what I think Pacino’s Scarface would have looked like if he was black. (more…)
Incoming! Missouri State
This is another new feature here at breastfedmoonshine. Nothing too complicated, I’m just going to post pictures of the women who cheer or play for our opponent each week. You have to love the simple things in life. (more…)
Ten Great Myths – #2 Arkansas was only good because they played in the SWC, which was weak.
MYTH – Fine, fine, maybe Arkansas won a bunch of games, but they were in the South West Conference, which would be like playing in Conference USA these days. (more…)
Ten Great Myths – #3 Arkansas was never an elite team.
MYTH – Arkansas has never been one of the big boys, and therefore cannot hope to be one of the big boys again. Since Arkansas has never been elite, they cannot expect to ever be in the same company as other elite programs. (more…)
Ten Great Myths – #4 Arkansas fans have unrealistic expectations.
MYTH – Arkansas fans are a crazy bunch who need to accept their fate as a mediocre program, who ran off a very solid coach because he didn’t win a national championship, and who have unrealistic expectations for competition. (more…)
